Our new hike begins in the town of Dobříš, continues through untouched wetlands following a forest river, and concludes with a meal at a local pub in Nový Knín.
We start with a visit to the French Park at Dobříš Palace. This Rococo-style garden, spread over five terraces, is a stunning example of 18th-century French garden design. We’ll then explore the English Park, a sprawling 30-hectare landscape developed in the 19th century. The park is characterised by its steep slopes, diverse native trees, and a selection of exotic species. As we traverse the park, we’ll encounter several scenic viewpoints and three intriguing artificial caves.
Next, we’ll pass by the historic Karel Čapek villa before venturing into the cool shade of the forest. Our hike will lead us through picturesque wetlands and eventually onto an unmarked path along the Kocába River.
We’ll conclude the day with a late lunch or early dinner at a local pub in Nový Knín.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING?
We recommend comfortable hiking or running shoes, some water, food, fully charged phone, warm and waterproof clothes in case of raining.
MEETING PLACE AND TIME
We meet in the morning at 7:45 a.m. outside the Smíchov train station (Smíchovské nádraží) in front of the cafe Kolej.
DIFFICULTY
The hike is intermediate. The route is 16 km long, with only a few slight uphill sections. However, please note that this hike includes unmarked trails with some challenging sections and stream crossings. FEE
Early bird price: 600 CZK per person, after 31 Aug: 700 CZK per person. The fee includes transportation by bus, services of the skilled and friendly guide and entrance to the French and English Parks at Dobříš Palace (excludes food, drinks, insurance).

For a full refund, cancel at least 72 hours in advance of the start date of the trip. For a 50 % refund, cancel at least 24 hours in advance of the start date of the trip.
