Sloup Rock City offers many spectacular viewpoints giving you a stunning panorama of The Sloup Castle (which was carved into the freestanding 33-metre high sandstone rocks in the 14th century) and the lovely village named Sloup v Čechách. You will enjoy the remarkable beauty of the landscape and numerous caves (e.g. Grand Gypsy Cave, Small Gypsy Cave, Samuel’s Cave), bizarre rock formations and deep pine forests. We will also visit The Forest Theatre – the construction of the theatre started in 1920 and it was ceremonially opened in the summer of the next year with a performance of Hauptmann’s play Die Versunkene Glocke (The Sunken Bell).
Please note that we will not visit the castle itself since it is closed during the winter.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING?
We recommend comfortable hiking or running shoes, some water, food, fully charged phone, warm and waterproof clothes in case of raining. No pubs and restaurants along the way are usually open during the winter. It is better to bring your own food.
MEETING PLACE AND TIME
At 8:30 a.m. at the bus stop Střížkov that is located right next to the metro station Střížkov (https://goo.gl/maps/x579hnVXFLgJo4519). The bus ride takes 1 hour and 40 minutes.
DIFFICULTY
The hike is intermediate. The route is 16 km long, with short uphills. Check out our Hiking Difficulty Scale for more information about the difficulty of the hike.
FEE
Early bird price: 600 CZK per person, after 26 Feb: 650 CZK per person. The fee includes transportation by bus and services of the skilled and friendly guide (excludes food, drinks, insurance).

For a full refund, cancel at least 72 hours in advance of the start date of the trip. For a 50 % refund, cancel at least 24 hours in advance of the start date of the trip.
